Kat Bowman

Kat Bowman grew up in Ventura, California and has always been involved in the creative arts.  She came by her love of art naturally; her mother, Sue, is a locally renowned painter and her father, Hank, is an award-winning photographer.

Her love of a challenge, combined with her desire to "do it all", has led Kat to diversify her artistic mediums; painting, needlework, pottery, stained glass and lampwork beads just to name a few.  She has also been extensively involved in the use of gourds as an art medium; she grows and cures her own gourds, then transforms them into unique art.  She's been involved as an artist in the Ventura Art Walk and had her own show in the Ojai Center of the Arts Gallery.

Kat's latest endeavor focuses her eclectic talents on the use of beads to create texture and motion in sculptured jewelry.  Using Japanese and Czech seed beads, Austrian crystals, gem stones, freshwater pearls and lampwork beads, she creates one-of-a-kind wearable art.

Enjoy!
